Bourbon Candied Pecans

by Cass

It’s finally beginning to feel like fall and I am here for all the cozy fall recipes–starting with these bourbon candied pecans! Making candied nuts is such a simple way to really elevate the flavor. The addition of bourbon to traditional candied pecans brings it to a whole new level! This is such a quick and easy recipe with really delicious results. Making these candied pecans on the stovetop rather than in the oven is so much faster, and you only need one pan!

Bourbon Candied Pecans Ingredients

These candied pecans only need a few ingredients, most of which you probably already have on hand. You start by toasting the pecans in some butter for a few minutes. Then you add sweetness and flavor with brown sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla extract. A little bit of bourbon gives these pecans a great depth of flavor. You can use any bourbon you like here.

If you don’t want to use alcohol in this recipe, you can simply substitute water for the bourbon! The bourbon is only on the stove for about 5-7 minutes, which is nowhere near long enough to cook out all the alcohol. That being said, it is a really minimal amount of bourbon overall. If you inhaled the whole batch of nuts in one sitting (and they are tasty enough to do so!), you might be close to the equivalent of a single shot.

There are so many different uses for these candied pecans. Whether as a tasty snack on their own, a yummy salad topping, or the most delicious trail mix addition, you can’t go wrong. A jar full of these makes a great gift, or an excellent dish to bring along to your next party. However you choose to eat them, I hope you enjoy this recipe!
